9 Years.

Tonight, Mark and I are celebrating our 9 year anniversary!

We're going out to dinner and to see Iron Man! I'm very excited! I even bought a new dress!

I was 21 when I got married. It was a long time ago, and I bet you if you'd asked any of my friends (or even my mom!) they would have given you long odds on this relationship making it. We've grown together, we've learned how to deal with each other, and we've always tried to remember to respect each other.

Also, we have seperate TVs and computers and cars and personal spending bank accounts. I can't tell you enough how easy it has made things to not be stepping on each other or in each other's way all of the time.

Its not always perfect. It never is. People who tell you they don't have problems are lying. Everyone fights once in awhile. But its rarely ever serious, and we keep coming out stronger and more in touch with the way that one another operates inside their head.

9 years! I'm proud!

I admire the relationship you have with Mark. That's how I want us to be, you both are so supportive and respectful of each other.

I think we're going next weekend! I'm not really that keen on seeing it (not the biggest Iron Man fan), but I know Declan is and this is the only way he'll let me see Edward Norton in Hulk! ;p

Plus, I just read that RDJr's Tony Stark is supposed to make an appearance in Hulk, and that they're hoping to have Ed Norton show up in Iron Man 2!

OH ALSO! Stay for the end of the credits! It'll be worth it, I'm told! I haven't seen the end yet and I'm freaking BUMMED!

I knew about Tony Stark in Hulk, but I doubt that Ed will show up in Iron Man 2, he's being pissy with Marvel right now. Sexy brooding genius that he is ;)

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! Lasting relationships require communication, commitment, understanding, and patience to name but a few. I remember our nine year anniversary, and it was that much more wonderful than our seventh. This year...20 years. It makes me very happy to see others on a similar journey.
