Blockbuster Online?

So, I've been a Netflix customer for several years now, and one of the main reasons I've kept a 3 a month plan is so that we can have one Bluray disc and two standard def discs at any time.

However, since Netflix announced that they're now going to charge extra for the new standard, I'm seriously considering switching over to Blockbuster. I've always been a fan of sticking with Netflix since it was their idea to begin with and they should be rewarded for their innovation, but they're just being stupid.

Does anyone have any experience with Blockbuster Online?

This is all of course assuming that Blockbuster doesn't follow suit and ALSO charge a premium, but if you're asking me they're about to get a slew of new customers over the principal of the thing.

Although upon further research, it looks like Blockbuster already charges more than Netflix, so maybe I'll hang out and wait to see HOW MUCH they're going to charge Bluray customers.

I haaaaaaaaaaaaate Blockbuster in general. They buy the 'edited for content' movies from the studios, and they don't have porn. I don't really watch porn, but I don't like that they don't have it ;)

I HATE edited for content stuff. UGH.

I don't know that Netflix has porn either, but that's what the internet is for. ;)

I've been using BBO for 2+ years now. I love it. No premium for BR movies, and the swap in store for more movies is awesome.

I had Netflix, then I had Blockbuster, then I had Netflix. Although BBO has some nice features, like returning the discs at a store or getting free store rentals, etc, I felt like their selection was lacking. There were tons of things that BBO didn't have and Netflix did (my subscriptions overlapped for a short time). Plus, I've always been disappointed in the Blockbuster stores in general. I didn't know about the edited for content thing, but I can't that as a strike against them also. I'd stick with Netflix if I were you.

Interesting! Thanks for your input, especially having had both of them! I think the final response is going to depend on how much Netflix thinks they need to charge me for Bluray, and if the monthly fee is still less than BBO, then I'll stick around.
